| May | Fred’s Pass Rural Show |
In May visit the Fred’s Pass Rural Show from 16-18 May. Fred’s Pass Reserve, established in 1977 is approximately 31 kms South from Darwin City. Set in picturesque surrounds the reserve provides facilities for sporting groups and community Groups. The Fred’s Pass Rural Show is an annual event providing a regional focus on productivity, enterprise and community. The aim of the Show is to provide a forum to showcase the diverse range of industries including pastoralism, agriculture, horticulture, mining and manufacture as well as to provide an opportunity for community groups to hold their annual fundraising. |

The Alice Springs Show starts off the run of Agricultural Shows through the middle of Australia. The Central Australian Show Society has organized the Alice Springs Show since the first show in 1960, and has started planning for this great event in 2009. This will be the 50th year of the show so take part and enjoy the great entertainment and catching up with friends and having a good time. | Tennant Creek Show |
The second Friday in July is the start of the Tennant Creek Show. Share the excitement of an outback show. With all the side show rides, competitions and displays you're used to seeing in a regional show, the Tennant Creek Show is a fun day out for all the family. The successful Cattle and Dog sections continue to attract much interest from all over Australia. There are new attractions for the kids, too. There’s always something to see and learn with the displays and plenty to do and buy with the always popular Sideshow, show bags and food. | Kununnurra Agricultural Show |
Kununnurra occurs on the same weekend as Tennant Creek but over the border in Western Australia. Kununnurra just keeps getting bigger with a large amount of static displays, including the Ute Competition as well as the emergency services and army displays adding interest and entertainment to the show. Equestrian Events, the Dog Show, Melon Olympics and the Vanderfield Lawnmower Challenge add to the atmosphere of the Kununnurra Show. | Katherine & District Show |
Show week commencing from July 14 brings more than 20,000 people to town, and creates the largest business week of the year. The excitement the Show brings is infectious and it not only showcases the best of Katherine, but also it’s District. Early in the week, Tuesday to Thursday the Katherine Show has ring events for Horses as well as Cattle events, which is open to the Public, free of charge. The President and Committee of the Katherine Show invites you to participate in the Katherine communities’ major event of the year. | The Darwin Show |
Darwin Show is the final location when travelling through the centre of Australia whilst attending the Agricultural Shows throughout the month of July. The Royal Darwin Show is the premier event on the Top End community calendar, where city and country come together for three days of competition, entertainment and displays of primary industry, horticulture, art, craft, cooking and photography. The official opening is on the Friday, followed by a grand parade of livestock and machinery. Visitors can enjoy equestrian events, sideshow rides, varied live entertainment and a wide assortment of food and drink stalls that reflect the multicultural nature of Darwin. | August | Borroloola Gulf Show |
The Borroloola show is the last show of the season, and one of the Territory's smallest, but it still attracts plenty of people. Borroloola Show is on the 3rd weekend of August each year. The town-size is expected to double with an extra 1,000 visitors over the rodeo weekend, including 210 camp drafters and 40 rodeo riders. "It's the biggest event in the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Borroloola Show itself has only been going for 22 years, and it was originally an idea from the women of the Isolated Children and Parents Association.
